LUKE'S REPORT - 2003
Hi my name is Luke and I’m 5 years old; this is the Luke report.
Well, the year has flown by like the Tilt Train driven by my Uncle Warren, and I have been busy
with my trains. My club didn’t exhibit the layout at the big Brisbane Train Show this year
as we moved into our new clubroom at the North Ipswich Railway Workshops instead.

We are now in the Tool and Gauge shops, which are easier to get
to then the old clubrooms; we can now go through the main Museum
gates to get to it.
The room is also bigger but it leaks (we were wondering what the
paint circles on the floor were, but the rain answered that).
It took us two days to do the move and the club members kept me
busy. I had to tell them what to move and where to put it, what
to throw out, what to keep . And Mum, talk about lazy, all she did
was to hang onto a broom sweeping. I don’t class that as work,
she does that at home all the time.

This is Clyde, the Workshops Cat.
|
After cleaning up I organised the guys into putting up the two
layouts, so now we are in business. We meet more often now and the
run days are great. What I like is sharing my lunch with Clyde the
workshop's cat; he likes the salmon sandwiches from the canteen
the best.
With this move, I’ve been able to run my trains a lot more,
I have two of the Thomas sets which I run four wheel English wagons
with. I also run my Union Pacific trains with some of Dad’s
rolling stock. Grandad fixed my steam engine after it somehow fell
off the layout onto the floor.

| We were asked to do another show
this year, but we knocked it back because we have to do some maintenance
to the layout. We are going to put it up in the clubroom and do
some much needed repair work to the wiring and the scenery. The
trailer needs work done to it as well. I got my wish though; I now
have my own Digital controller. Dad brought one for Mum that is
easier to use then his, but I borrowed it (permanently) and now
all I want are decoders in my locos.
So that is my report for now, keep on modelling.
Luke.
